Bridge C-14 offers a variety of virtual, peer-led drop-in sessions to support individuals, families and communities navigating Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Each session is designed to foster meaningful connection and support by bringing together people with shared experiences. To help protect the integrity of each space, we kindly ask that participants only attend groups that reflect their current circumstances.
Who Can Attend Our Drop-In Sessions?
1. Drop-In for Individuals Actively Pursuing MAiD (Not Yet Approved)
For individuals who are currently in the process of applying for MAiD or undergoing MAiD assessments. This group offers a supportive space to connect with others who are actively navigating the logistical, emotional and procedural aspects of the MAiD application or assessment experience. We understand that many people are thoughtfully considering MAiD; however, this group is intended specifically for those who have formally started the MAiD process but have not yet been approved. At this time we are unable to offer group support for individuals who are still exploring or thinking about MAiD. We recognize the significance of this stage and hope to offer dedicated resources in the future.
This group is not intended for general education or for professionals attending in a learning capacity.
2. Drop-In for Individuals Approved for MAiD
For individuals who have been approved for MAiD and are moving toward provision. This group offers space to reflect, prepare and connect with others walking a similar path.
This group is not intended for general education or for professionals attending in a learning capacity.
3. Drop-In for Supporting Someone Choosing MAiD
For family members, friends or chosen supports of someone pursuing or approved for MAiD. This space is for sharing, asking questions and finding peer support through the challenges of caregiving, witnessing suffering and navigating goodbye.
This group is not intended for general education or for professionals attending in a learning capacity.
4. Drop-In for Grieving a MAiD Loss
For anyone grieving the death of someone who accessed MAiD. Open to all relationships and types of loss, this group provides a safe and understanding space for grief in all its forms.
