About the event

Join us for an engaging drop-in session on Community Resources: Tapping into Local and Online Support. Explore a variety of local and online resources available for end-of-life care and medical assistance in dying (MAiD), and participate in interactive activities to enhance your understanding and awareness. Connect with others, share insights, and discover valuable support options for yourself or your loved ones.

Participants will engage in  sharing funny and amusing moments from their lives, promoting healing and resilience.

Here's how the activity will unfold:

  1. Preparation: Have a blank piece of paper and a pen or pencil ready.
  2. Sketching/Writing: Reflect on your hopes and aspirations for the future post-MAiD.
  3. Sketch or write a visual representation of your vision on the paper.
  4. Sharing and Discussion: Share your creation with the group. Briefly describe what you included and why.

Activity Worksheet:

Participants will sketch or write their visions for the future post-medical assistance in dying (MAiD) on a blank piece of paper. Include symbols, images, words, phrases, scenes, or scenarios that capture hopes and aspirations for life beyond MAiD.

Example of Activity:

Participants will take a few moments to reflect on their hopes and aspirations for the future post-MAiD.

Using a blank piece of paper and a pen or pencil, sketch or write a visual representation of your vision for the future. This could include symbols, images, words, or scenes that convey their thoughts and feelings about life beyond MAiD.

Discussion Questions:

What themes or recurring elements did you notice in your vision for the future post-MAiD?

How did engaging in this activity impact your perspective on life beyond MAiD, and what insights did you gain from it?

  • Open to all - including those who are considering/pursuing, supporting someone choosing, grieving a MAiD loss, and/or professionals/volunteers
  • Sessions are facilitated on Zoom by trained volunteer(s)
  • No counselling is provided and participation is voluntary
  • No cost – suggested donation of $5 per person is appreciated
